President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vui, addressed those present at the ceremony.
Vui first mentioned the late Patriarch Irinej: "I want to thank Patriarch very much for everything he has done for our people".
"In the previous eight years, we tried to raise Serbia from the ashes," said Vucic.

"Happy Christmas Eve from the magnificent Hilandar! I have just finished dinner on Christmas Eve with Abbot Methodius and I am preparing for the morning service with the brothers of the Hilandar Monastery," Vucic said.

Mount Athos fire brought under control
A brush fire in a forested area near the Monastery of Chilandariou in the monastic community of Mount Athos, northern Greece, was brought under control by firefirghters on Wednesday.
According to reports, the blaze led to the deployment of 21 firemen, two water-dropping airplanes and five fire trucks.

Emergency Declared on Greece's Thassos Island over Wildfire
A state of emergency has been declared on the island of Thassos in Greece over a wildfire raging since Saturday, the Bulgarian National Radio reports.
Hundreds of firefighters have been battling the flames since Saturday. No-one has been hurt.
Helicopters have also joined the effort to put out the flames, Focus News Agency says citing Greek website Protothema.
New Hilandar fire sets back reconstruction plans
A large-scale fire that broke out at the Hilandar monastery grounds several days ago has destroyed a warehouse, workers' quarters, and two vehicles.
This has been reported by the Belgrade-based daily Vecernje Novosti, which said the damage exceeds EUR 100,000. The blaze destroyed a digger bought in 2010 along with a 40-year-old bulldozer.

Patriarch Irinej to visit Zeitenlik, Hilandar
BELGRADE - Patriarch Irinej of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) will visit the Hilandar monastery at Mt. Athos in Greece, following the liturgy and memorial service to victims of World War I which he will serve at the Serbian military cemetery of Zeitenlik, on the occasion of the 100 years since the onset of WWI.

Arrest made over 2012 fire at Mount Athos
Police in northern Greece have arrested a 35-year-old Latvian national in connection with a large fire that burned for five days near the monastic community of Mount Athos in the summer of 2012, it was reported on Tuesday.
