Croatia: Brit caught driving 244 kmph with no license
A 22-year-old British citizen has been ordered to pay around EUR 1,600 in local currency for driving without a license at 244 kilometers per hour.
The man was driving a British license plates BMW when he was stopped on the Bregana-Zagreb-Lipovac highway late on Sunday, Hina is reporting.

Man kills wife and child, wounds woman, commits suicide
An unnamed man on Friday committed suicide by jumping from the 4th floor of a residential building in the Spansko neighborhood of Croatia's capital Zagreb.
The police said that two dead persons were found in the apartment from which he jumped, the Croatian Hina agency reported.
Croatia: Robber bites off jewelry store owner's finger
A robber in Croatia has bitten off "a part of the index finger" of the owner of a jewelry store he was trying to rob.
Croatian news agency Hina is reporting that the incident happened in the seaside town of Crikvenica, and that the thief was a Swiss citizen.
Award for Tanjug photo reporter Srdjan Ilic
NICOSIA - Tanjug photo reporter Srdjan Ilic has won a special award in a competition for the best photo for the year 2014-2015 staged by the Alliance of Mediterranean News Agencies (AMAN).
Ilic is Tanjug's deputy editor-in-chief responsible for photography.
He will receive the award at the ceremony in Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt on October 15.

Croatia sets aside funds for neighboring countries
ZAGREB -- Croatia has decided to send humanitarian aid worth EUR 100,000 to Serbia and Bosnia each, and thus help the neighboring countries cope with the floods.
Foreign Minister Vesna Pusić explained that her ministry has a sum allocated each year for humanitarian aid to those affected by disasters abroad.
