Bulgaria Commemorates 145 Years since the Epic Battles at Shipka Pass
Bulgarians celebrate 145 years of the Shipka epic.
The epic battles were fought at the highest points of the Shipchen Pass - St. Nicholas Peak (today Stoletov Peak), Shipka Peak and Orlovo Gnezdo from August 21 to 23, 1877 between Suleiman Pasha's troops and the Russian-Bulgarian detachment of Gen. N. G. Stoletov.

Cargo Ship Crashed in the Bosphorus Strait of Istanbul (VIDEO)
Cargo ship collided on the shores of the Bosphorus Strait of Istanbul, Reuters reported, citing witnesses quoted by CNN.
According to the shipping agency, "as a result of the incident, local authorities have closed the channel."
No injuries were reported.
Macedonian Police Crack Down on Street Racers
After receiving significant numbers of complaints from angry residents, traffic police in Skopje say they have already started arresting street racers who breach the peace and cause potential dangers at night-time and weekends.
"We are determined to establish traffic order and that's that," said Biljana Milevska from the Skopje police force.

Bulgaria marks on July 20 Ilinden - the Day of St. Elijah or Iliya and the Name Day of Iliya, Iliyan and Iliyana.
Elijah or Iliya was a prophet in Israel in the 9th century BC. According to the Books of Kings, Elijah raised the dead, brought fire down from the sky, and ascended into heaven in a chariot.

The Bo?azkesen Fetih prayer room is scheduled to open to worshippers in August after a construction process which cost about 1.5 million Turkish Liras.

Sasa Obradovic has said that proceedings before the Hague Tribunal (ICTY) take an excessive amount of time, in the context of the health of some indictees.
The Serbian government's legal representative was addressing a UN Security Council session when he called for the proceedings before the court to be concluded as soon as possible.
