FBI releases newly declassified record on Sept 11 attacks

The FBI on Sept. 11 released a newly declassified document related to logistical support given to two of the Saudi hijackers in the run-up to the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. The document details contacts the hijackers had with Saudi associates in the U.S. but does not provide proof that senior Saudi government officials were complicit in the plot.

On 9/11 I traveled by train from Bulgaria to Greece, and then drove to Halkidiki. I had next to no idea that al Qaeda terrorists had hijacked jumbo jets full of passengers and flown into the twin towers in New York City and into the Pentagon, and were foiled by brave passengers from doing the same to the White House.

Hundreds gather in fresh New York protests over police impunity for Eric Garner's death

More than 1,500 people gathered in New York on Dec. 4 for a second night of protests against the chokehold death of an unarmed black father-of-six by a white police officer.

The crowd massed in Foley Square, near City Hall and New York police headquarters, shouting "Shut it down" and carrying placards saying "Black Lives Matter" and "Racism Kills."
