Police officer sentenced to 13 years in murder of Gezi victim
A Turkish police officer has been sentenced to 13 years and four months in prison for killing of a young man in southern Turkey during mass Gezi Park demonstrations in 2013.
3 Romanians arrested for double murder in eastern Serbia
Three Romanian citizens have been arrested on suspicion that they murdered an elderly couple in the village of Brodice, near Pozarevac, eastern Serbia.
The Interior Ministry (MUP) also said that the three - V.G., born in 1961, F.G. (1967) and V.D. (1972) - are being held on the order of the prosecution based on suspicion that they committed the criminal act of aggravated murder.
413 women killed across Turkey since start of 2015 according to media: Association
Some 413 murders of women were reported by the Turkish media in 2015, the Umut (Hope) Foundation has stated in a new report, underlining that the trend has been increasing since the beginning of 2016.
The foundation called on Feb. 16 for NGOs to conduct comprehensive studies on the issue, which it described as a "mass murder of women."

109 women killed in southeast in 2015: Rights group
Some 109 women have been killed and 44 others have been injured in southeastern Turkey, according to 2015 Violation of Women Rights Toll released by Human Rights Association's (?HD) Diyarbak?r branch during a press statement on Feb. 5.

4 people murdered every day in Turkey in 2015, police records show
There were at least 1,500 homicide victims in 2015 across Turkey in areas under surveillance by the police and where 86 percent of the country's population lives, police records have shown.
The figures indicated there was an increase of more than 2 percent over the homicide rate in 2014, while the biggest increase was in domestic violence-related femicides.
