Her Royal Highness, Princess Margareta of Romania, was awarded on Friday the honorary degree of the Timisoara-based University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Banat "King Mihai I", with the academic institution thus marking 70 years since its coming into being under a Royal Decree signed by His Majesty King Mihai I of Romania.

Princess Margareta on Wednesday evening said she was very proud of Prince Nicolae, who already adopted Romania, even if he was not born here.

Prince Radu has handed, on Tuesday, the High Patronage of His Majesty of King Mihai I distinction to the Romanian Rugby Union and Oina Federations, in a ceremony that took place at the Peles Castle in Sinaia, attended by Minister of Youth and Sports Gabriela Szabo and the chairman of the Romanian Olympics and Sports Committee (COSR), Alin Petrache.

A book called "Margareta, m?rturia unui sfert de veac regal / Margareta, Testimonies of a Royal Quarter of Century" by Sandra Gatejeanu-Gheorghe that narrates the princess' "past twenty-five years of representative deeds," and her "rich charity activity along with her contribution to the institutional and cultural development of Romania," will be released on Wednesday in Bucharest, at the Elisa

On Thursday at the French Embassy in Bucharest, Chairman of Romania's Senate Calin Popescu-Tariceanu was presented France's Knight of the Legion of Honour decoration, at a ceremony also attended by Princess Margareta, Prince Radu, former presidents Ion Iliescu and Emil Constantinescu, along with political figures and more.

A number of personalities of Romania, the United States of America, France, and Switzerland were decorated, on Sunday, by Princess Margareta, on the occasion of the events held in honor of the anniversary of 25 years since her return to her homeland, among them Frederic Mitterand, the nephew of the former president of France.

Princess Margareta believes that the 25th anniversary of her return to her homeland and the activity of the Foundation that bears her name is a great accomplishment for Romania.

Princess Margareta, the elder daughter of ex-sovereign of Romania Michael I and her husband Prince Radu were welcomed by Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday, King Michael's Press Office announced in a release to AGERPRES on Wednesday.

The meeting at Buckingham Palace was an invitation to tea at 5 p.m., the release added.

The Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee (COSR) on Tuesday at Elisabeta Palace was awarded the Nihil Sine Deo royal distinction on its 100th anniversary.

The distinction was handed over by Princess Margareta on behalf of His Majesty King Mihai I to COSR President Alin Petrache.
