Old war submarine tells it story
The War Museum of Halkida will in the coming days exhibit a part of the historic submarine Glaukos, one of the two that traveled to the coast of Cyprus in 1974 while Turkish invasion on the shores of Kyrenia was under way, but were recalled twice. 'We felt betrayed when they told us to go back,' Charalambos Giakouvakis told Kathimerini about the mission to Cyprus in 1974.

Corruption probe launched in 2002 sale of Hellenic Shipyards
Corruption prosecutors have launched a probe into the sale of Hellenic Shipyards in Skaramangas, western Attica, to a German consortium in 2002, even though the statute of limitations has expired and no politician can be held accountable unless money is found to have illegally changed hands.
German company will pay compensation to Turkey over delay in submarine delivery
Germany's ThyssenKrupp will pay 2 million euros of compensation to Turkey as the company has not even begun to produce the submarines, though the company had agreed to make the first delivery in 2015, sources say.
Greece's first home-built submarine set for launch
Greeces first domestically built submarine, a Type 214 diesel-electric vessel named Pipinos, will be ready for launch on October 6, the Hellenic Navy said on Thursday.
Pipinos is the first of three vessels commissioned by the navy to be built by Hellenic Shipyards at Skaramangas, west of Athens, and is expected to join the fleet within the first half of 2015.

Three new submarines to be ready by 2015
Construction of three Type 214 submarines, which has been stymied by technical snags, legal disputes and corruption probes, will be completed in the next couple of years, the Hellenic Navy has said.
