In the past 2 months: Authorities foiled nearly 47,000 Attempts to enter Bulgaria Illegally
The intensified work to combat the illegal trafficking of migrants has achieved results in the past two months, reports the Ministry of the Interior. After the operations ordered by the Minister of the Interior, Kalin Stoyanov, to counteract the flow of migrants passing through Bulgaria, only for the period June 1 - July 31, 46,940 attempts to cross the Bulgarian-Turkish border were prevented.
China relaxes visa, urban residency rules to boost economy
China will allow some foreigners to obtain visas on arrival and rural residents to settle more easily in cities as part of a series of measures aimed at boosting its flagging economy.
The relaxations aim to "promote the free movement" of "people, vehicles, information and data", an official from the Ministry of Public Security said.
Dozens of phony passports found in forger bust
Two men aged 36 and 41 have been arrested for forgery, violating immigration laws and other crimes after police found 196 phony passports, driver's licenses, ID cards and residence permits during raids on their respective homes in downtown Athens, the force said in a press release on Thursday.

Over 3,500 illegal migrants caught in Istanbul in last 6 days
With the intensifying efforts to combat illegal migration in Istanbul, security forces have apprehended more than 3,500 individuals in the last six days, while foreigners who live registered in the city stated that they were satisfied with the inspections, local media has reported.
Ministry to further step up efforts on illegal migration
Interior Ali Yerlikaya Minister has announced that the measures to detect and combat illegal migration will continue to intensify following the evening inspections conducted last week.
The fight against irregular migration has been identified as a top priority by the ministry, with efforts being made not only in Istanbul but also across all 81 provinces, Yerlikaya said.
