Human rights in Israel

The Turkish parliament has decided to boycott the products from companies that have openly voiced their support for Israel and not to sell their goods in the cafeteria and cafes in the complex of the parliament.

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo expressed outrage for the release of a UN list that names and shames more than 100 companies that operate in the occupied West Bank.

One of the men was hospitalized with kidney failure and 11 broken ribs. Another was nearly unrecognizable to his wife when he was wheeled into a courtroom. A third was stitched up after being attacked by a security dog.

Turkey's foreign minister on Sept. 10 slammed Israel's prime minister over his "illegal, unlawful and aggressive" messages in election pledges, saying they are part of "a racist apartheid state". 

Turkey on July 19 slammed a new law adopted by Israel's parliament defining the country as the nation state of the Jewish people, saying the legislation "trampled" on universal law and the rights of Israeli Arabs.

The reason is EU's call to investigate Israeli police's brutality against Israeli Arabs.

On Tuesday, the EU condemned Israeli police's clash with demonstrators in Haifa, who protested against the high death toll among Palestinians along the border between the Gaza Strip and Israel.

Israel Aug. 4 used a controversial decades-old form of detention without trial against an alleged Jewish extremist for the first time, following an outcry over the death of a Palestinian toddler in an arson attack.

Human Rights Watch on July 20 accused Israel of ?abusive arrests? of Palestinian children as young as 11 and of using threats to force them to sign confessions.

Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas warned on Dec. 23 that his administration would "no longer deal" with Israel if a United Nations Security Council resolution calling for a final peace deal fails.
      

Calls are growing for a boycott of Israeli products in Turkey, with a number of professional associations urging consumers to refrain from buying goods from a list of companies prepared following Israel’s recent Gaza operations.
