SNS-led coalition wins 45 seats in Novi Sad city assembly - commission
NOVI SAD - In Sunday's elections for the Novi Sad city assembly, a coalition around the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) won 52.55 pct of 100 pct of votes counted (87,791), or 45 seats in the legislature, the city election commission said in an official report on the preliminary election results.
Vojvodina assembly speaker Istvan Pastor dies
NOVI SAD - The speaker of the assembly of Serbia's Autonomous Province of Vojvodina and Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians leader Istvan Pastor died on Monday after a serious illness, aged 68.
Born in Majdan, Novi Knezevac municipality, in 1956, Pastor was a jurist by profession.

Hungarian PM to Open Football Academy in Serbia
Hungarian Prime Minister Vikor Orban will attend the September 27 opening of a football academy in the northern Serbian village of Backa Topola, which has been funded by the Hungarian government with 9.5 million euros.
