BAKU - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Monday in Baku his discussions with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev had addressed cooperation in the energy sector and, in particular, building a gas power plant near Nis as a joint venture with Azerbaijan.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said on Oct. 18 that the third meeting of the South Caucasus Regional Cooperation Platform is grounded in regional ownership, as the countries of the region are best suited to solving the problems they face.

Azerbaijani President İlham Aliyev has turned down Armenia's proposal to sign a peace deal based on only previously agreed-upon principles, calling it "unrealistic."

Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev's party has won snap parliamentary elections, the poll commission announced Monday.

Aliyev had called Sunday's snap legislative election ahead of schedule to avoid the poll coinciding with the COP29 climate conference that Baku is to host on November 11-22.
