Thousands of British men sentenced for homosexuality before it was decriminalised will be pardoned under the Turing Law, named after the famous scientist in the 1940's Alan Turing, announced the government in London, cited by BGNES.

French-born composer Alexandre Desplat won his first Oscar after eight nominations. He gave a shout to his Greek mother from the stage. The composer's Greek mother and French father met while attending College at Berkeley though Desplat grew up in france.

Oscar hopeful Benedict Cumberbatch is pleased about the attention his latest movie brought to legendary mathematician Alan Turing's personal story, but also warns that "same minorities are prejudiced and punished" as in the legendary mathematician's time, particularly in Turkey, Russia and Greece.

Sherlock Holmes star Benedict Cumberbatch married pregnant fiancee Sophie Hunter on Feb. 14, according to British media, with British actress Keira Knightley among the stars joining the celebrations.
