ENFIA notices to come by end-August
No change is expected to the heavy bill of the Single Property Tax (ENFIA) which Greece's leftist-led government is imposing for a third consecutive year despite pre-election promises to abolish it.
After the submission and processing of 6.1 million income tax declarations, the Independent Authority for Public Revenue has started uploading the ENFIA notices for 2017 on its website.

Breaking news: Deadline for income tax statement extended
Following calls by tax experts and the market sector, the Greek Finance Ministry issued an official announcement extending the deadline for the submission of income tax statements regarding physical and legal entities until Friday, July 21.
Charges per tax payment at bank branches to reach 1.50 euros
Contrary to earlier information that taxpayers would have to pay between 0.25 and 0.50 euros for every payment to the state as of this month if made via bank counters, it emerged on Thursday that the charges banks intend to impose on taxpayers using their counters to pay income tax, single property tax (ENFIA), value-added tax etc, will range between 1.10 and 1.50 euros per transaction.
Greeks reluctant to file their tax statements
Online income tax declarations are fewer at this point compared to last year by some 300,000, according to the latest data from the Independent Authority for Public Revenue.

Income tax payable in up to 24 tranches
More than 2.5 million taxpayers will have to pay their first income tax tranche by late July, and the Finance Ministry is concerned by the drop in tax revenues and is offering taxpayers the options of paying their dues in 12 or 24 monthly installments.

Income tax declaration deadline is June 30
All taxpayers will have to submit their income tax declarations by June 30, according to a law amendment tabled in Parliament on Tuesday, while monthly road tax payments are making a comeback.

Site opens for tax declarations
The online platform for the submission of this year's income tax declarations (for incomes earned in 2016) opened on Thursday, earlier than ever before, and it appears that it will close on July 15, although a legal clause to that end is still anticipated.

Most people can expect to see their tax bills increase
The majority of taxpayers will suffer retroactive tax increases that affect their incomes from January 1, 2016, according to a bill that was to be passed into law in Parliament on Sunday night.
The level of the income tax-free ceiling for Greece's salary workers, pensioners and farmers will be determined by the number of children dependent on each taxpayer.

The country's 8.5 million taxpayers will have to fork out an extra 1.8 billion euros per year in income tax alone according to the set of new measures the government presented on Tuesday in Parliament. In the next few days another bill will follow concerning taxation on consumption.
