"Court is insult to Kosovo, but vote to establish it"

PRIŠTINA -- Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci has called on members of the Kosovo assembly to vote in favor of establishing a special court for war crimes.

The court would deal with crimes committed by ethnic Albanians against Serbs during the war in 1999.

EULEX rejects accusations from Serbs in north

PRIŠTINA -- EULEX has rejected accusations against it coming from Serbs from northern Kosovo, who said that arrests carried out by the EU mission "represented kidnappings."

Kosovo's small Catholic community in Kosovo is gearing up for services marking the Easter celebrations.

The main service will be held on Sunday evening in the Catholic Cathedral in the Kosovo capital, Pristina.

BELGRADE- The Serbian government and the Kosovo-Metohija Serbs have met their obligations from the Brussels Agreement and expect a more active approach of the international community in its implementation and normalisation of life in Kosovo-Metohija, Serbia's Minister without portfolio for Kosovo-Metohija Aleksandar Vulin said on Thursday.

Jafer Ahmeti will take up his office as Kosovo's charge d'affaires in Montenegro on Thursday.

Speaking on Wednesday, he said opening diplomatic missions in Podgorica and Pristina would further intensify the cordial relations between the two small Balkan countries.

EULEX police declared "unwelcome" in northern Kosovo

KOSOVSKA MITROVICA -- Local officials in northern Kosovo announced on Wednesday that they "cut off" cooperation with EULEX police and declared their members unwelcome in the north.

This decision came due to "continued incomprehensible arrests that greatly disturb the citizens," according to Beta.

KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - The Management Team tasked with establishing a community of Serb municipalities, north Kosovo mayors, representatives of local self-governments and head of the Mitrovica district announced on Wednesday evening that they cut off cooperation with EULEX police, and declared their members "unwelcome" in the north of the province due to more frequent arrests of Serbs.

BELGRADE- The Serbian government's Office for Kosovo-Metohija said on Wednesday that all crimes must be solved and punished, expressing hope that the role of the self-styled "Kosovo Liberation Army" in the province will be revealed in an international court as "no other court has had the will or the courage to find the truth."

KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - An inquiry committee of the Serbian parliament determined that most cases of misuse of budget funds in Kosovo-Metohija (KiM) relate to construction projects, and the facilities whose construction has been paid but never completed include the Gerontology Center and a sports facility in Kosovska Mitrovica.

Officials from Pristina and Tirana gathered on Wednesday in Kukes, a town in north-east Albania bordering Kosovo, to commemorate the exodus of ethnic Albanians from Kosovo in April 1999, after NATO launched its air strikes on Serbian forces in a bid to end the war.
