Quake measuring magnitude 4.5 recorded in central Greece

An earthquake in central Greece with a preliminary reading of 4.5 magnitude was recorded 15 km east of the town of Nafpaktos, the Athens Geodynamic Institute said on Wednesday.

The Institute said the quake was recorded at a depth of 12.7 km. There were no immediate reports of damage, the fire department said.

Mild quake hits western Greece

A small quake shook the western Greek town of Nafpaktos on Wednesday, but there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

The quake had a preliminary magnitude of 4.1 and occurred at 2.20 a.m. It was centered eight kilometers southwest of Nafpaktos, at a depth of 10 kilometers, the Athens Geodynamic Institute said.

A magnitude 4 quake can cause moderate damage.

4.5-magnitude earthquake recorded in central Greece

An earthquake with preliminary magnitude 4.5 struck near Thiva in central Greece on Wednesday.

The Athens Geodynamic Institute said the quake occurred at 12.54 p.m. local time, 11 kilometers east of Thiva, at a depth of 5 kilometers.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injury from the quake which was reportedly felt in the capital, Athens.

Nine People Dead after the Earthquake in Turkey

At least nine people including three children are dead in eastern Turkey after an earthquake with its epicentre in neighbouring Iran, BBC reported.

At least 37 people were injured after houses collapsed, Turkey's interior minister said. 9 people were killed.

5.7 Magnitude Earthquake Registered Off the Coast of Puerto Rico

A 5.7 magnitude earthquake has been registered off the coast of Puerto Rico, the US Geological Survey reported.

The quake was registered at 12:32 Bulgarian time. Its epicentre is located 13 km south-southeast of Indios. The depth of the earthquake was 12.9 km.

There is currently no information on casualties and destruction. There is no danger of tsunami.

Powerful Earthquake Hit the Philippines

A 6.9 magnitude earthquake shook the Philippines, the world agencies reported, citing the American Geophysical Institute.

The quake's epicentre was 56 kilometers southwest of Davao City, at a depth of 53 kilometers.

A 6-year-old girl was killed when a wall collapsed during, Reuters reported, citing Matanao Mayor Vincent Fernandez.
