Crude steel production declines in August
Türkiye's crude steel production declined by 2.9 percent in August from a year ago to 2.8 million tons after rising 7.7 percent annually in the previous month, data from the World Steel Association have shown.
Türkiye was the world's eighth-largest producer of crude steel.

Industrial output down in 2020 after six years of growth
Ljubljana – Industrial output in Slovenia contracted by 6.2% in 2020 in what was the first annual drop after six successive years of growth. Turnover in industry was down by 7.8%, the Statistics Office said on Wednesday.
In electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply industrial output was down by 9.6%, in manufacturing by 6.0% and in mining and quarrying by 3%.
Industry turnover up 11.8pct in 2018 (INS)
The overall industrial turnover (domestic and foreign market) was up 11.8 percent in nominal terms in 2018, due to the advance recorded in the manufacturing industry (+12 percent) and the mining industry (+6 percent), according to National Institute of Statistics (INS) data released on Tuesday.

China's 2018 iron ore imports fell by 1 percent from the previous year, the first annual decline since 2010, according to data from the General Administration of Customs on Jan. 14.

China on Sept. 14 posted its slowest growth in fixed-asset investment in nearly 18 years along with weaker-than-expected industrial output and retail sales, suggesting the economy may be starting to lose steam as lending costs rise.
Industrial production drops 6.3 percent
BELGRADE - Industrial production in Serbia was down 6.3 percent in January-October against a year earlier, the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia said in a release Friday.
Industrial production fell 11.2 percent in October against October last year, and grew 2.7 percent compared to the 2013 average, according to the release.
