Turkish cinema audience shrinks due to pandemic

Turkish movie theaters lost more than half of their audience in 2020 because of the closure of venues as a result of restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The loss in audience numbers in 2020, a year that people had to stay at home, stood at 69.5 percent, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK).

ADR and Code4Romania sign partnership agreement for digitization of public sector

The chairman of the Authority for Romania's Digitization (ADR), Octavian Oprea, and the head of the Code4Romania Board of Directors, Bogdan Ivanel, signed on Monday, March 8, a Partnership Agreement which consolidates the cooperation between the two organizations for the digitization of the public administration of Romania.

Bulgarian Agriculture State Fund to Finance Broadband Internet Project for Small Towns and Villages

The "Agriculture" State Fund announced a tender for projects for the building up broadband Internet network in villages and small towns in Bulgaria. A separate budget worth of BGN 82 million  is allocated for financing of the projects. These are funds provided under the Rural Development Program and the aim of the projects is to achieve 100% coverage of the country with fast internet.

Stricter regulations for telecoms

The gap between the internet speeds that service providers advertise and actual speeds remain a problem not only for Greek users but also for all their European counterparts too. Often a double-play program with an internet and landline connection that is supposed to offer a speed of 24 megabits per second is restricted to just 3 Mbps.
