BELGRADE - Serbian Prime Minister and leader of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) Aleksandar Vucic said Saturday that he was not afraid there would be any chaos after a partial vote recount following recently held parliamentary elections, stressing that things would be the way the law prescribed and the way the citizens wanted.
    

Serbian PM Denies Blackmail, Takes Polygraph Test

Serbian PM Aleksandar Vucic took a lie-detector test to prove he is innocent of media blackmail allegations, which his allies claim were invented as part of a plot to overthrow him.

Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic said on Sunday that Prime Minister Vucic had taken a police polygraph test which proved that the blackmail claims against the Serbian premier were "false accusations".

Smear Campaign Against Media in Serbia Revs Up

A slur campaign against three independent media organisations in Serbia, led by the Serbian tabloid Informer and national broadcaster TV Pink, is ramping up again with Informer claiming today that foreign grants were given to NGOs on dates that coincide with the publication of "false affairs against people close to the government".

In a session on February 26, the Commission ruled that Informer violated the section of the Code of Journalists of Serbia related to the veracity of reporting in the article entitled "Wanted to get hold of 23.2 million euro, but are still 'reputable journalists' and diplomats," which it published on January 15.

BELGRADE -- The Serbian Ministry of Culture and Information has condemned a tabloid for publishing pornographic images, and claiming they showed Croatia's new president.

The ministry on Monday announced they would press minor charges against the Informer newspaper's "responsible person."
