Swedish actress Bibi Andersson, best known for her roles in legendary director Ingmar Bergman's films, died on Sunday aged 83, her daughter Jenny Grede Dahlstrand said.

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) hosts a two-day tribute to Swedish auteur Ingmar Bergman this weekend, in cooperation with the Swedish Embassy in Greece.

Internationally acclaimed Belgian director Ivo van Hove and the Toneelgroep Amsterdam help launch this year's Greek Festival with a double-bill adaptation of two films by Ingmar Bergman.

Bulgaria's The Lesson won the prestigious Ingmar Bergman International Debut Award at the renowned Göteborg Film Festival. Local cinema lovers will also have the opportunity to see it as a part of the Sofia International Film Festival.
