Opposition Party Pushes Serbia to Change Petition Law
Serbia's opposition Centrist Movement has proposed changes to the law on petitions, aiming to address a loophole that enables parliament to ignore citizens' initiatives, such as one from the Tijana Juric Foundation, which seeks harsher penalties for killers of children.
Croatian Conservative Campaigners Claim Rapid Success
A civic initiative in Croatia dubbed 'The People Decide' whose campaign concerns proposed changes to Croatian election law, has stated that in only three days, by Wednesday, it had collected 78,000 signatures.
The second initiative, 'Truth about Istanbul Convention', who collects signatures for a referendum on the so-called Istanbul Convention says it has mustered 60,000 signatures.

Campaign to introduce life sentence for killers of children
A petition is being launched in about 40 towns to introduce life sentence for those found guilty of raping and murdering children, minors, and pregnant women.
The initiative has been launched by the Tijana Juric Foundation - named after a 15-year-old girl who was abducted and murdered in 2014 - and requires at least 30,000 signatures to enter parliamentary procedure.

Tunnel Referendum Petition Gathers 50 000 Signatures in NW Bulgaria
A petition to build a tunnel under the Petrohan Pass in northwestern Bulgaria has gathered nearly 50 000 signatures, organizers say.
