Over 100 Ukrainians to be accommodated in Postojna
Ljubljana – A hundred and twenty Ukrainian citizens who have already been granted temporary protection status in Slovenia or have requested it will be placed in an accommodation centre in the town of Postojna, south-west, the government said after Friday’s session, at which it took a decision to establish the centre.

Children from Ukrainian orphanage arrive in Slovenia
Postojna – Twenty children from a Ukrainian orphanage have arrived safely in the village of Slavina near Postojna on Tuesday. Most of the children are between one and three and a half years old. Sandi Curk, commander of civil protection of the Notranjska region, told the STA they had been warmly welcomed.
Convoy of 20 Ukrainian orphans on its way to Slovenia
Postojna – A convoy of 20 orphans from Ukraine and accompanying staff is on its way to Slovenia, where they will be accommodated in the village of Slavina near Postojna, Sandi Curk, commander of civil protection of the Notranjska region, said on Monday. The journey will be challenging, he admitted, expressing hope that the children will reach Slovenia soon.
Talks on easing of restrictions scheduled for next week
Postojna/Cerknica – The government will consult with health experts on Tuesday on when and how to adjust coronavirus restrictions now that the Omicron-driven wave has peaked and the epidemiological curve is rapidly declining.
Ceremony remembers return of Primorska to the homeland
Idrija – The main ceremony remembering the return of the western Primorska region to the homeland will be held in the town of Idrija, west of Ljubljana, on Saturday. The event will also mark 74 years since the implementation of the Paris Peace Treaty under which Primorska was reunited with Slovenia after being under Italian rule since the end of WWI.
Primorsko-Notranjska region to get business incubator
Postojna – All six municipalities in Primorsko-Notranja, a region in the south-west of the country, have signed a contract to set up a regional business incubator Perspektiva in a bid to provide systemic leverage to encourage entrepreneurship through start-ups.
Number of new coronavirus cases remained high on Wednesday
Ljubljana – The number of new coronavirus infections again exceeded one thousand on Wednesday, standing at 1,164, which is a slight drop from the day before. Hospitalisations also exceeded the 500 milestone by one patient today, while 106 needed intensive care, seven more than the day before. Four patients died.
Govt allows rallies of up to 10 people
Ljubljana – The government has amended several of Covid-19 decrees as part of its weekly review of measures on Wednesday, including allowing rallies of up to ten people across the country.
