From big group shows at the country's top institutions to fascinating solo exhibitions at the city's galleries and art spaces, this is a great time to plan a visual arts-hopping tour of Athens.

Rejuv Athens has brought an innovative tone to art installations by transforming venues into audiovisual extravaganzas, inviting people to loosen up, dance and admire the works.

A former paper warehouse was made available to artist Nikos Artemis by the City of Athens for an audiovisual installation. The initiative is part of the municipal authority's ongoing efforts to utilize abandoned buildings in the city center and help revive neighborhoods that have fallen on hard times.

Kale Group, as part of their 2018 art project, supports artist Elif Uras's new site specific installation. The installation "The Source" proves Uras's singular vision of the complex, ever-changing relationship between Western modernity and traditional features of Eastern art and culture.

Dries Verhoeven's project "Guilty Landscapes" transports images of uneasy responsibility into the white cube of a gallery. The Dutch artist's large-scale video installation is now on display at the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Athens, confronting the viewer with jarring images of poverty and desperation and challenging them to form a personal connection with the person being viewed.

Animator Theodor Ushev, nominated for the most prestigious award in the world of cinema - "Oscar" for his animation on Georgi Gospodinov's story, "Blind Vaysha" presented his new project in Bulgaria.

In the mirror, dimly is his first exhibition-installation in Bulgaria, which is open to the audience from February 20 to March 11 at the Sofia City Art Gallery.
