Iran announced on Tuesday the lifting of access restrictions on widely used Western web platforms, including popular messaging app WhatsApp and app store Google Play.

Thousands of users of Meta services, including Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, are experiencing major disruptions worldwide.

Messaging apps have frozen, with pages either failing to load or users unable to post updates.

Specifically, more than 42,000 Instagram users report issues with viewing posts.
