Bulgaria and Greece to Accelerate Gas Interconnector Project

Bulgaria and Greece will speed up the activities necessary for the completion of the natural gas interconnector project between the two countries, quoted by Tornos news.  The commitment was confirmed during a meeting between Bulgaria's Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova and Greece's Environment, Energy and Climate Change Minister Giorgos Stathakis.

Vucic: Russia only source of gas for our industry

DEPA eyeing stake in Alexandroupoli LNG terminal

Public Gas Corporation (DEPA) is weighing the idea of acquiring a 20 percent stake in the project of the planned liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal off Alexandroupoli, in northern Greece, after the project received a fresh boost from the completion of the entry of GasLog (which belongs to shipowner Peter Livanos) with another 20 percent stake.

Gas Flow via Bulgaria-Romania Link Hindered Until 2019

The flow of gas through the interconnector between Romania and Bulgaria will not be fully enabled for the next two years, outgoing Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova said on Friday.

The lack of a compressor station on the Romanian side of the Danube (which serves as a natural border between the countries) impede the daily flow from Romania into Bulgaria, Petkova told lawmakers.

Bulgaria-Romania Intersystem Gas Link Launched

Gas transmission operators Bulgartransgas EAD and Transgas C.A. - Romania have completed the construction of the intersystem gas link Bulgaria-Romania, reported BGNES.

The interconnector Bulgaria-Romania has a total length of 25 km, of which 15.4 km on Bulgarian territory, 7.5 km on Romanian territory and 2.1 underwater transit link through the Danube.
