Second-quarter growth expected to be above 7.3 percent: Minister
The economic growth rate is expected to be above 7.3 percent in the second quarter of 2022, Treasury and Finance Minister Nureddin Nebati has expressed.
"The economy grew by 7.3 percent in the first quarter. We are expecting a growth rate above that in the second quarter," Nebati said in an interview with private broadcaster NTV on Aug. 23.

Central Bank to review interest rates this week
The Central Bank's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) will meet on June 23 to review its key interest rate.
This will be the MPC's sixth rate-decision meeting this year.
Economists expect the monetary authority to keep the policy rate (one-week repo auction rate) unchanged at
14 percent.

Inflation: New highs in May – At 10.7% in Greece
Inflation in the eurozone jumped to 8.1% in May, from 7.4% in April, according to preliminary data released by Eurostat on Tuesday. Analysts forecast a much smaller increase to 7.8%. For Greece, inflation is estimated at 10.7% in May, up from 10.2% in April.
