Free admission to monuments and sites Tuesday
Admission to archaeological sites and historical monuments across the country will be free of charge on Tuesday, International Day for Monuments and Sites, the Culture Ministry has announced.
The day, also known as World Heritage Day, was established in 1983 by UNESCO and the International Council on Monuments and Sites.

USR asks gov't to set up national museum at Rosia Montana

The World Heritage Committee of UNESCO has added cultural sites in Diyarbak?r, southeastern Turkey, to its World Heritage List.
The Diyarbak?r Fortress and the city?s Hevsel Gardens were inaugurated into the list during the 39th session of the Committee, held in the German city of Bonn late on July 4.
Bulgaria, USA to Create Commission on Safeguarding Cultural Heritage
The Bulgarian branch of ICOMOS and the US Embassy to Sofia announced their plans for the establishment of bilateral Bulgarian-US commission on safeguarding the cultural heritage of the country.
The main aim of the commission will be to work on raising awareness on the importance of cultural heritage and exchanging experience between Bulgarian and US experts in the field.
Countdown starts for Diyarbak?r's World Heritage site bid
Site preparations have finished in Turkey?s eastern province of Diyarbak?r, whose ancient sites may soon receive world heritage status. The 5,700-meter long and 12-meter high historical walls, along with the 700-hectare Hevsel Gardens, which are a like an open-air museum and symbol of the city, are waiting for UNESCO?s World Heritage status decision.
