Liridona LLuka-Gashi resigned on Saturday, asking journalists to appoint a new head of the Association of Professional Journalists of Kosovo in the next two weeks.

She resigned hours after journalists gathered in Pristina to initiate a petition calling for an extraordinary convention of the association.

Eighty per cent of journalists in Macedonia think that conditions are worsening, 17 per cent say that they are stagnant and only 3 per cent believe that they are improving, according to new research published by Macedonia’s Independent Journalists' Trade Union, SSNM.

BRUSSELS -- IFJ marked International Women's Day by calling on media organizations and public authorities to confront violence against female journalists.

The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) urged them to provided a safe working environment for women in the media.
