Greece to reopen Libya embassy

Greece is planning to normalize ties with Libya and to reopen its embassy in the war-torn country, according to diplomatic sources.

The embassy was shut down in late July, 2014, at the height of Libya's civil conflict.

To this effect, Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias will visit Tripoli on November 29.

Turkey introduces visa requirement for Libyan citizens

Turkey has introduced visa requirements for Libyans, due to security concerns, the Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesperson said Aug. 27. 

Turkey annulled a memorandum of agreement with Libya from 2009 waiving visas for nationals of both countries, with Libyan citizens having to apply for a visa to travel to Turkey as of Sept. 24, Tanju Bilgiç told reporters on Aug. 27. 

Two dead in gun attack at South Korea embassy in Libya

Gunmen killed two people and wounded a third in an attack at the South Korean embassy in the Libyan capital Tripoli on April 12 which was claimed by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
      
The gunmen opened fire on the embassy compound from a passing car, killing two people and wounding a third, a Libyan interior ministry spokesman told AFP.
