The Education Ministry has announced that it has fallen victim to the largest cyberattack in the country's history, with distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks being aimed at its centralized high school examination platform.

Greece's top prosecutor ordered an investigation into two cyber attacks targeting a state-run exam platform on Tuesday morning, which has disrupted the end-of-year exams taking place in high schools around the country. 

Account data of administration employees was on the "dark web". And many of the administrations still provide contact emails, outside of the state ones. This is recorded in the annual report of the Ministry of e-Government on the state of information resources for last year. The document was accepted by the caretaker cabinet a week ago.

Last week's attacks by Turkish hackers on websites of Greek state bodies including the Greek Foreign and Finance ministries, the National Intelligence Service (EYP) and Parliament are the latest in a string of such incidents over the years which, however, have not led to any data being stolen, according to sources.

Emergency telephone number 112 can now be used via a mobile application, a computer and a tablet, the MoI announced.

The new features of the system are introduced to give people with hearing and speech impairment access. However, they need to pre-register, which requires a lot of personal data and details about the person who has decided to use the new opportunities.

DdoS hacker attack, carried out via multiple IP addresses from Thailand, happened against the site of the Bulgarian Socialist Party on November 21, Positano 20 reported on Monday, reports Mediapool. 

Site protections, however, contain the attacks, although they are difficult to overcome, and the site has not stopped functioning.

Croatia on Wednesday said its police had arrested the teenager behind Webstresser.org, a website where users could order Distributed Denial of Service, DDoS, attacks against internet pages worldwide.

The Ankara Public Prosecutor’s Office has demanded the release of 1,000 Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ) suspects detained for using Bylock, an encrypted smartphone messaging application ByLock, after they determined that around 11,000 telephone numbers were directed to the application’s server through an online application called Mor Beyin.

Hundreds of thousands of home routers, IP cameras and other internet-of-things devices have been infected with malware over the past year and have been used to launch some of the largest distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks ever recorded.

BELGRADE - The Tanjug News Agency has lately been targeted by DDoS hacker attacks not limited to taking down its website, but also aimed at disabling its IT system.

Telekom Srbija has said the attacks were not easily detectable.
