Iphigenia in the war zone at Ancient Epidaurus

‘Six women in Greek Tragedy’ this summer beneath the heights of the Acropolis.
The premiere of "Six Women in Greek Tragedy," an arrangement of plays written by Greece's major tragedians, Euripides, Sophocles and Aeschylus, is set for June 22, 2024.
This open-air Ancient Greek theatre performance, directed by Panos Angelopoulos, will be hosted at the Athens University History Museum, in the hub of Plaka, beneath the heights of the Acropolis.

Ancient Greek tragedy tells timeless story of Syrian flight
A group of Syrian women are adapting the Euripides' tragedy "Iphigenia," using a a play set during an ancient war to bring Berlin audiences closer to the plight of women driven from their homeland by conflict.
1,800-year-old mosaic found in ancient city of Perge
A 1,800-year-old mosaic, which showed the sacrifice of Iphigenia, the daughter of Agamemnon and Clytemnestra during the Trojan War in Greek mythology, was found at excavation works in the ancient city of Perge in Turkey's Mediterranean region.
Iphigeneia at Aulis | Zakynthos | July 19
Euripides' "Iphigeneia at Aulis" will be performed at the open-air Municipal Theater of Zakynthos on Wednesday, July 19 as part of the production's summer tour. It is directed by Emilios Heilakis on an adaptation of the ancient drama by Manolis Dounias, with music by Dionysis Savvopoulos. The show begins at 9.30 p.m. Tickets cost 17 euros.
