Apple to Design its Own Power Chips as Early as 2018

Apple Inc is designing its own main power management chips for use in iPhones as early as in 2018, the Nikkei business daily reported on Thursday citing sources, writes Reuters. 

Apple's move would reduce its dependence on Dialog Semiconductor Plc, that makes power-management chips for smartphone makers.

Apple supplier Foxconn has stopped students from working illegal overtime at a factory in China.

It comes after the Financial Times reported Tuesday that six high school students in Henan province would work 11-hour shifts to manufacture Apple's iPhone X.

Sales of Apple technology company jumped in the last few hours worldwide after the new iPhone X was officially launched for sales, reports bTV. 

Three new models of phones - iPhone 8, 8 Plus and iPhone X - were released at the last event of the company. The first two models were on sale last month, but they did not excite the fans of the brand and the sales were low.

Apple looking into reports that iPhone 8 batteries swell

Reports from a few iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus buyers have suggested there could be an issue with the battery inside some of the devices swelling, causing the case of Apple’s new iPhone to split open and expose the smartphone’s internals.
Apple has now confirmed it is looking into it, although a spokeswoman declined to comment further when asked how many devices are affected.

Apple Receives Record Number of US Government National Security Requests for Data

The U.S. technology giant said it received between 13,250 and 13,499 requests affecting between 9,000 and 9,249 accounts, according to its transparency report. Apple is not allowed to disclose the specific numbers of requests received so has to do so in a range.
