Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili has put a mostly symbolic veto on the "foreign influence" law which has sparked unprecedented protests and warnings from Brussels that the measure would undermine Tbilisi's EU aspirations.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has hosted Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze to further boost the two countries' already close ties and cooperation in various fields, including economy and trade.

Scuffles broke out on Tuesday in Georgia's parliament, where lawmakers are expected to adopt a divisive "foreign influence" law criticised by protesters for mirroring Russian legislation used to silence dissent.

Georgian Parliament Speaker Irakli Kobakhidze  arrives on an official visit to Bulgaria at the invitation of National Assembly Speaker Tsveta Karayancheva.

They will put a wreath at the Monument to the Unknown Soldier. Later, a meeting with President Rumen Radev is scheduled.

Brnabic, who is the first prime minister of Serbia on an official visit to Georgia, and Bakhtadze said during the talks that the relations of the two countries are good and traditionally friendly and that in the coming period they will work on intensifying cooperation in different areas.

According to the Serbian government, Brnabic andwill discusse cooperation of the two countries with Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bahtadze.

Brnabic will also meet with Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili and Georgian Parliament Speaker Irakli Kobakhidze.
