The brutal murders of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) have prompted Islamic-style reactions - including execution of its members and calls for more violence against the jihadists.

Turkey has strongly condemned the killing of a Jordanian pilot, who was apparently burnt to death by Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) jihadists, vowing full support in the fight against terror with Jordan and the international community.

Jordan executes prisoners after pilot is "burned alive"

Two prisoners from Iraq have been executed by Jordan in response to the killing of a Jordanian pilot captured by the Islamic state.

According to reports based on a video released by the extremists, the pilot, Moaz al-Kasasbeh, was put in a cage and burned alive.

The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) released a video on Feb. 3 purportedly showing the burning alive of a Jordanian pilot it had captured in December.

The video released online showed images of a man purported to be Maaz al-Kassasbeh engulfed in flames inside a metal cage.

ISIL militants say they will execute a Jordanian pilot "immediately" if Amman does not hand over a female suicide bomber by sunset Jan 29, as Japan waits in anguish for news of a journalist the extremists are also holding.

Jordan's government spokesperson said on Jan. 28 his country was willing to hand over an Iraqi would-be-suicide bomber if a Jordanian pilot captured by Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) was released.
   

The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) threatened Jan. 27 to kill a Japanese journalist and a Jordanian pilot within 24 hours unless Amman frees a jailed female militant.
