Authorities in Iraq's Kurdish-controlled region have dismissed dozens of police officers alleged involvement in human trafficking, local media reported on Dec. 6.

Iraq began piping oil from its fields around the disputed city of Kirkuk on Friday, more than a year after exports were halted over troubles with the autonomous Kurdish administration north of the country.

The US State Department announced it is targeting three senior members of the banned Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), following a visit of a US official to Ankara on Tuesday.

Turkish authorities have detained 137 people in a country-wide operation over two days aimed at the outlawed PKK, state-run Anadolu Agency said on Oct. 6.

At least two outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) were "neutralized" in eastern Turkey, an official statement said on Aug. 23.

Turkey has warned Canada over Ontario-made weapons recently seized during an anti-Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) operation, state-run news service Anadolu Agency reported on July 24.

Gunmen entered the governorate building in Erbil, the seat of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) in northern Iraq on Monday and began firing from windows at Kurdish security forces, a deputy governor of the city and Kurdish security officials said.

Turkey has condemned the bomb attacks on ethnic Turkmens in the northern Iraqi province of Kirkuk.
