Many times we discuss great scientists based on whether they were given a Nobel Prize, or if a subatomic particle is named after them.
Obviously, this also pays due respect to people who, with their work, really advanced scientific knowledge. They made great discoveries. They added to our knowledge.

In Greece, a funerary custom which is anything but a novelty for most European countries became tangled up in a web of dogmatic beliefs that held it hostage to political reluctance for decades.

The new normal
We are growing accustomed to what can only be described irrational normality - and this is a very dangerous trend.
The real economy is, again, near breaking point and speculation about a Greek exit from the euro area, or Grexit, is back in the international headlines. Such an economic environment is extremely hostile to private enterprise.

Turkey drifting towards irrationalism
Barely a day passes without a new example of how our discussions in Turkey are becoming increasingly irrational. What is ironic is that pundits, journalists, diplomats, academics, etc. are constantly spending their time and energy trying to rationalize the irrational.

President Basescu, regarding Ukraine conflict: We must fear the irrational
President Traian Basescu on Wednesday stated that Romania has no rational reasons to fear the conflict in Ukraine, yet drew attention that the irrational may function in this case, and our country must behave in its training as if problems may exist.
