Turkey has condemned a shooting rampage that killed two people on Oct. 9 near a synagogue in eastern Germany.

Israel's army said Tuesday it had detected Hezbollah tunnels infiltrating its territory from Lebanon and launched an operation to destroy them, a move likely to raise tensions with the Iran-backed group.

Israel has launched what it calls "an operation to expose and neutralise" tunnels between Lebanon and Israel allegedly dug by armed group Hezbollah, reported Al Jazeera. 

The operation was announced by the Israeli military on Twitter on Tuesday. 

Renewed violence in Gaza threatened to thwart efforts to end months of unrest as Israeli air strikes killed four Palestinians and destroyed a Hamas TV building while a barrage of rocket fire from the enclave left one dead on Tuesday, reports AFP. 

The flare-up came after a deadly Israeli special forces operation in the Gaza Strip on Sunday that led Hamas to vow revenge.

The Greek Foreign Ministry on Sunday condemned a deadly attack on a synagogue in the US city of Pittsburgh on Saturday.

In a Tweet, the Foreign Ministry said it was "shocked" by the killing of 11 people by a lone gunman who stormed the Tree of Life synagogue during prayers.

A gunman yelling, "All Jews must die," stormed a Pittsburgh synagogue during Saturday services, killing 11 worshippers and wounding six other people including four police officers, before he was arrested.

Gaza's Hamas rulers said late Thursday that a truce had been reached with Israel, ending an intense two-day burst of violence that had pushed the region closer to war. But the deal did not appear to address the deeper issues that have prevented the bitter enemies from reaching a longer cease-fire arrangement.

An Israeli military court on July 8 charged a Turkish woman accused of passing on hundreds of dollars to a "terrorist" organisation, security sources said. 

Greece's foreign ministry expressed on Tuesday its "abhorrence and deep concern" at the deaths of Palestinian protesters from Israeli soldiers in the Gaza Strip and called on both sides to show restraint to avoid escalating the violence.

Calls for Muslims to be attacked are spreading in Belgium, local media reported. Numerous worrying signals have been received in news agencies.

A study has made it clear that the letter was originally distributed in England but has reached Belgium through social networks. The Belgian police say that it follows closely the evolution of the events.
