Selimiye Mosque restoration nears completion
Restoration of the minarets, doors, and windows of Selimiye Mosque, a UNESCO World Heritage site in the northwestern province of Edirne, has been completed, while decorative painting and plaster ornamentation are still ongoing, according to Edirne Foundations Regional Director Ahmet Saraç.

Turkish hammams see revival as youth, tourists embrace tradition
Hammams are experiencing a resurgence in Istanbul, becoming a favorite of both tourists and locals trying to reconnect with their traditions, experts on the Turkish bathhouses have said.
"The last 15 years or so, I see that there's a huge uprise again, especially among the young people," said Elizabet Kurumlu, an Istanbul-based hammam expert and guide.

Steel scaffolding has been installed on the minaret named after Ottoman Sultan Bayezid II in the section of Istanbul's historic mosque overlooking the Topkapı Palace.

Hagia Sophia visitors to pay entrance fee
Foreign tourists will be required to pay an entrance fee of 25 euros to visit the Hagia Sophia Mosque as of Jan. 15.
The Culture and Tourism Ministry has completed its efforts to separate the entrances of worshippers and cultural visitors to the Hagia Sophia Mosque. Tourists will now be able to visit the mosque without disturbing the environment of worship.
