Iran hints US could be behind 'suspicious' tanker attacks
Iran's parliament speaker hinted on June 16 that Washington could be behind the "suspicious" tanker attacks in the Gulf of Oman to pile pressure on Tehran, official news agency IRNA reported.

29 Killed in Attack on Iranian Military Parade
(CNN) - At least 29 people were killed and 70 others wounded in an attack on a military parade in Iran's southwestern city of Ahvaz on Saturday, Iran's semi-official Fars News Agency reported, citing the deputy governor-general of Khouzestan province, Hossein Hosseinzadeh.

Two Dead, 255 Injured in Iran Earthquake
AFP - A strong 6.0-magnitude earthquake struck western Iran near the border with Iraq early Sunday, killing two people and injuring more than 250, officials said.
The shallow quake hit 26 kilometres (16 miles) southwest of the city of Javanrud in Kermanshah province, the US Geological Survey said, near the site of a powerful quake last year that killed hundreds.

Iran moves to change currency unit back to toman
Iran plans to revalue its rial tenfold and revert to the currency's old name, the toman, according to a bill approved on Dec. 7 by President Hassan Rouhani's cabinet, the official Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) has reported.
The currency was called the toman until the 1930s and most Iranians still refer to it by that name.
