The Israeli Air Force is continuing its preparations for potential strikes against Iran’s nuclear facilities, following the weakening of Tehran’s allies in the Middle East—primarily Hezbollah—and the fall of the Assad regime in Syria, Israeli military officials told The Times of Israel.

The UN Security Council (UNSC) is scheduled to meet on Monday following Israeli airstrikes against Iran, which were carried out in retaliation for an earlier attack by Tehran. The meeting, requested by Iran, has received backing from China, Algeria, and Russia, and is being chaired this month by Switzerland.

Iran vows to 'respond firmly' to Israeli strikes

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said on Monday Tehran would "respond firmly and effectively" to deadly Israeli strikes on military sites over the weekend.

"We are using all available means to respond firmly and effectively to the aggression of the Zionist regime," Baghaei told a regular news conference.

Iran's Khamenei: Israel attack 'should neither be exaggerated nor minimized'

Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has said Israel's attack on the Islamic Republic "should neither be exaggerated nor minimized."

"The evil perpetrated by the Zionist regime [Israel] two nights ago must not be exaggerated or minimized," he said in a post on X.

Without elaborating, he described the deadly attack as a "miscalculation."

Israel's Strikes on Iran Spark Strong Condemnations Across Middle East

The Iraqi Prime Minister's office, cited by Reuters, issued a statement condemning Israel's "continued aggressive policy and expansion of regional conflict" following an airstrike on Iranian targets earlier today. Iraq called for a ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon, urging comprehensive international efforts to support regional stability.
