ISIL probe reveals so-called charter on terror activities in Türkiye

An ongoing investigation into the ISIL terrorist organization in Istanbul has revealed that a subgroup crafted a so-called charter to regulate its activities in Türkiye.

A total of 23 individuals are currently on trial under detention for allegedly conducting illegal mosque and madrasa operations within ISIL, under the "Ahidder" banner.

Authorities detain over 200 ISIL suspects

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya has announced the arrest of 216 suspects in coordinated operations across 45 provinces targeting ISIL operatives.

The large-scale security operation, which included the major cities of Ankara, Istanbul and İzmir, was conducted with the assistance of chief public prosecutor's offices and law enforcement, Yerlikaya said in an X post on Oct. 28.

Turkish intelligence has apprehended an ISIL suspect accused of orchestrating a deadly assault and providing guns for it earlier this year at the Santa Maria Italian Church in Istanbul's Sarıyer district.

The attack on Jan. 28 killed a Turkish man and was claimed by ISIL-K shortly after the assault.

Iraqi Defense Minister confirms US military to leave Iraq

Iraq and the United States have agreed on a phased pullout of the US-led anti-jihadist coalition but have yet to sign a final agreement, the Iraqi defense minister said Sunday.

The United States has some 2,500 troops in Iraq and 900 in Syria as part of the international coalition against the ISIL group.

Turkish police nab 65 ISIL suspects in major op

Turkish security units have apprehended a total of 65 ISIL terror suspects in a series of operations spanning the past five days across more than 10 of the country's 81 provinces, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya has said.

The individuals were identified as having engaged in various activities on behalf of the terrorist organization, Yerlikaya said in a social media post on Aug. 23.
