Turkey became a model country whose policies give hope to millions of people in its region, according to the nation's interior minister.

Speaking to private news channel A Haber on Feb. 20 night, Süleyman Soylu said Turkey, under President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's leadership, mapped out its own path in the face of the challenges and uncertainties of the new world order.

Turkey's Inquiry Commission on the State of Emergency Measures released a compilation of works it has carried out during three-year activity period, including the data analysis system, evaluation criteria, decision samples, and detection of illegal activities of FETÖ - the group behind the 2016 defeated coup in the country.

Turkish gendarmerie on Jan. 30 arrested a senior operative of FETÖ, the group behind the 2016 defeated coup in Turkey, in the capital Ankara.

Identified by the initials A.Y., the former teacher was wanted with an arrest warrant for four years over "establishing and membership to an armed terrorist organization", according to statement by security forces.

More than 120 journalists have been held in Turkish prisons, a world record, and the media situation in the country has not improved since last year, when the state of emergency was lifted. This was reported by the International Press Institute, quoted by British media.

Turkey issued arrest warrants for 150 FETÖ suspects in military, 92 of whom were on active duty, the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office said on Nov. 19.

Turkish police on Nov. 15 detained 75 suspects for their suspected links to the FETÖ, the group behind the 2016 defeated coup, security sources said.

A total of 2,327 defendants have been handed life sentences in cases related to the 2016 defeated coup attempt by the FETÖ in Turkey.

Turkey's Supreme Court of Appeals on Nov. 8 upheld life sentences for 19 FETÖ members convicted over holding a presidential aide against his will on the night of the defeated 2016 coup.

The high advisory board of the Turkish presidency held a closed-door meeting on Nov. 5 to discuss the latest regional and international developments, putting extra emphasis on Turkey's anti-terror "Operation Peace Spring" into northeastern Syria and its fight against FETÖ.
