On The Brink: Hamas and Hezbollah Leaders Killed by IDF

Ismail Haniyeh, the Hamas Political Bureau chief, has been killed in an attack in Tehran, Iran, as confirmed by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Wednesday, according to Press TV. The IRGC, in a statement to Meher News Agency, reported that Haniyeh and one of his bodyguards were killed when their residence was targeted in Tehran.

Turkey condemns assassination of Hamas chief

Turkey condemned on Wednesday the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, the Iranian capital, saying the attack aimed to spread the war in Gaza on a regional level.

"It has been revealed once again that the government of [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu has no intention of achieving peace," Turkey's foreign ministry said in a statement.

 

Fidan attends Iranian president's inauguration ceremony

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Tuesday attended the inauguration ceremony of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Tehran, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said.

Pezeshkian won a runoff race against ultraconservative Saeed Jalili on July 5 to replace president Ebrahim Raisi who died in a helicopter crash in May.

Deadly strike hits Gaza school as heavy battles displace Palestinians

A deadly strike hit a school turned shelter in southern Gaza on Tuesday as Israeli forces in the war-ravaged territory's main city pushed on with a major offensive that has again displaced Palestinians.

A hospital source in Khan Yunis in southern Gaza said at least 29 people were killed when the school was hit in nearby Abasan.

Tens of thousands gather for Raisi funeral procession in Tehran

Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei led prayers for late president Ebrahim Raisi on Wednesday as huge crowds thronged the capital Tehran for his funeral procession.

Flanked by top officials, Khamenei said prayers over the coffins of the eight dead from Sunday's helicopter crash, who also included foreign minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.

The International Criminal Court's prosecutor Karim Khan said he had applied for arrest warrants for top Israeli and Hamas leaders over the conflict.
