Israel–Gaza conflict casualties timeline

Israeli forces killed a member of the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas during a raid in the occupied West Bank on June 10, witnesses and medics said. 

A spokesman for Israel's paramilitary border police said its troops were in Jenin as part of a predawn operation against suspected militants, when they saw a Palestinian preparing to throw a pipe bomb at them and shot him. 

Canadian police have identified the suspected gunman who killed a soldier at the National War Memorial in Ottawa before being shot dead by a security guard on Wednesday.

The number of wounded Palestinians evacuated from the Gaza Strip for treatment in Turkey has reached 123, according to a written statement released by the Turkish Foreign Ministry

Israeli air strikes launched before dawn on Aug. 26 killed two Palestinians and destroyed much of one of Gaza's tallest apartment and office buildings, setting off huge explosions and wounding 20 people, Palestinian health officials said.

Violence reverberated across Gaza on Monday with four Palestinians killed in Israeli air strikes as Egypt proposed a new ceasefire that would open key crossings into the blockaded territory.        

Palestinians say 2,122 died in conflict so far

GAZA STRIP -- Two Palestinians were killed overnight as Israel continued its attacks on the Gaza Strip, bringing the death toll in the conflict to 2,122.

This was announced by Palestinian sources.

Marking the first day of the new school year in Gaza, dozens of children lined up in the courtyard early on Sunday morning to sing the Palestinian national anthem.

Hamas-led gunmen in Gaza executed 18 Palestinians accused of collaborating with Israel on Aug. 22, a day after Israel tracked down and killed three top Hamas commanders, the highest-ranking militants to be killed in the six-week war.

A senior Hamas leader has said the group carried out the kidnapping and killing of three Israeli teens in the West Bank in June - the first time anyone from the Islamic militant group has said it was behind an attack that helped spark the current war in the Gaza Strip.

Eighteen Palestinians have been killed and 120 wounded by Israeli strikes across Gaza since the collapse of a temporary truce, medics said on Aug. 20.
