The Israeli military said its forces killed five Palestinian in the occupied West Bank on Thursday in a second day of raids that have killed 14 in total.

"Following exchanges of fire, the forces eliminated five terrorists who had hidden inside a mosque" in Tulkarem on Thursday morning, the military said.

Türkiye has issued a strong condemnation of Israel's military operation in the occupied West Bank, criticizing remarks by Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz regarding the extension of Gaza-like practices to the region.

Türkiye's Foreign Ministry described the operation as "illegal" and a "major threat to global security."

Yemen's Houthi rebels have agreed to allow tugboats and rescue ships to assist a Greek-flagged oil tanker that remains ablaze in the Red Sea "in consideration of humanitarian and environmental concerns," Iran's mission to the United Nations claimed late Wednesday.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry expressed strong condemnation on Tuesday regarding an Israeli assault on journalists from the Turkish public broadcaster TRT, characterizing it as "an effort by bloodstained Israel to conceal the truth."

Israel's military struck the Gaza Strip on Monday, a day after truce talks in Cairo coincided with a major but brief cross-border escalation involving Iran-backed Hezbollah in Lebanon.

The Gaza conflict, triggered by Hamas's Oct. 7 attack on Israel, has drawn in Tehran-aligned armed groups across the Middle East, repeatedly heightening fears of a broader regional conflagration.

Fires broke out Friday on a Greek-flagged oil tanker previously attacked by Yemen's Houthi rebels this week, with the vessel now appearing to be adrift in the Red Sea, authorities said.

It wasn't immediately clear what had happened to the oil tanker Sounion, which had been abandoned by its crew on Thursday and reportedly anchored in place.
