Israel Defence Forces have confirmed that they are carrying out precise, and targeted operation in a specific region in Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza.

The operation is being carried out based on intelligence information and an operational necessity.

Israeli forces stormed Gaza's largest hospital Wednesday, targeting what they believe is a Hamas command centre housed among thousands of ailing and sheltering civilians.

Israeli and Palestinian officials said military operations were taking place at Gaza City's Al-Shifa hospital — the focal point of days of deadly fighting and nearby aerial bombardments.

As they stated, there are bodies around the hospital that cannot be taken to morgues or buried.
WHO spokesman Christian Lindmeier said that around 600 people remained in hospital, the BBC reports.

"Hamas has lost control of Gaza - terrorists fleeing south, civilians looting Hamas bases", Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said on Monday night - five weeks after the terror attack.

Al-Shifa Hospital: Prematurely born babies wraped in foils to keep them warm

The World Health Organization has been able to restore communications with health officials at Al-Shifa Hospital in northern Gaza, but it is no longer functioning as a hospital.

According to WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the constant shooting and bombing has worsened the already critical situation.

Health officials and people trapped inside Gaza's largest hospital rejected Israel's claims that it was helping babies and others evacuate Sunday, saying fighting continued just outside the facility where incubators lay idle with no electricity and critical supplies were running out.

Israel will help evacuate babies from the main hospital in the Gaza Strip and provide a corridor for anyone who wants to leave. Tel Aviv reiterated that it was not attacking the health facility, but acknowledged that there was fighting in its area with fighters from the radical group Hamas.
