Israel Delivers Economic Blow to Houthis with Precision Strikes on Key Ports

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) revealed details of overnight airstrikes targeting Houthi-controlled ports in Yemen, conducted on Thursday morning. These strikes were part of a larger operation aimed at crippling the Houthi militia's maritime infrastructure and were described by the IDF as an "economic blow" to the group.

Israel strikes Yemen after missile intercepted

Israel said Thursday it struck ports and energy infrastructure used by Huthi rebels in Yemen after intercepting a missile fired from the country, warning Huthi leaders it "will reach you too."

Huthi media said the strikes hit power stations, oil facilities and the port of Al Hudaydah, causing deaths and injuries, without giving further details.

Israeli airstrikes on the port of Al Hudaydah in Yemen in July appear to have been a disproportionate and indiscriminate attack against civilians, which could amount to a war crime, Human Rights Watch said on Monday.

On July 20th, Israel announced that its warplanes had struck Houthi military targets near Al Hudaydah.

Ruling AKP denounces UAE-Israel deal

Turkey's ruling party on Aug. 15 criticized the deal between the United Arab Emirates and Israel to normalize ties as a "political suicide" against the Palestinian cause.

It is also an attempt to eradicate a two-state solution between Israel and Palestine proposed by the international community, Ömer Çelik, spokesman for the AKP said on Twitter.
