Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip

The head of the U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees warned Wednesday of the risk of famine in Gaza, a day after the United States said Israel had been urged to improve aid deliveries to the territory.

A United Nations committee has accused Israel of serious violations of a global treaty protecting children's rights, stating that its military actions in Gaza have had a devastating impact on children.

Türkiye's Communications Director Fahrettin Altun on Tuesday condemned Israel's genocide in the Gaza Strip, urging the international community to unite in opposition to what he described as ongoing barbarism.

Altun used the hashtag "333rd day of genocide" to make his comments on the 333rd day of Israel's war on Gaza.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry condemned the Israeli government for its policies "trying to prolong its time in power," saying Israel is perpetuating violence and instability in the region.

Aid trucks entered Gaza from southern Israel yesterday through a new agreement to bypass the Rafah crossing with Egypt after Israeli forces seized the Palestinian side of it earlier this month amid heavy shelling in the southern region.

But was unclear if humanitarian groups would be able to access the aid because of ongoing fighting in the area.

The African Union condemned Wednesday the Israeli military's moves into southern Gaza's Rafah, calling for the international community to stop "this deadly escalation" of the war.
