Millenia-old Hittite tablets interpreted with AI
Deputy Culture and Tourism Minister Gürkan Yazgı has announced a groundbreaking initiative where nearly 2,000 ancient Hittite tablets, housing millennia-old historical records, are being deciphered by artificial intelligence.
The endeavor marks the world's first attempt at leveraging AI to unravel the mysteries concealed within the ancient artifacts.

Grave steles found in Saraçhane Archaeological Park
Three grave stele fragments have come to light during the ongoing excavations by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Heritage team in the Saraçhane Archeology Park.
Sharing the details, Mahir Polat, the deputy secretary general of the municipality, said, "We are happy to gain a very special series to the Istanbul Archaeology Museums."

2,000-year-old sarcophagus found in Istanbul
A sarcophagus determined to belong to the Roman era has been unearthed during the excavation works of an apartment demolished within the scope of the urban transformation project in Istanbul.
The sarcophagus came to light during the foundation excavation of the demolished building in the Büyükçekmece district.

Head of Eros reunites with its sarcophagus
Discovered 140 years ago and taken to England from Türkiye, the Eros Head was put in its place at the Istanbul Archaeology Museum as a result of the initiatives of the Culture and Tourism Ministry.
The artifact, which was brought to Türkiye on June 10, was reunited with the historical Sidamara Sarcophagus to which it belonged.
