Police on Jan. 27 seized 200 furs made out of badger skin while trying to be smuggled into Turkey in Istanbul’s Atatürk Airport.

The Turkish Interior Ministry on Jan. 12 announced that an investigation has been launched into the People’s Special Forces (HÖH), a group that emerged in the midst of the fight against the July 15, 2016 coup attempt, following recent news reports that the group was illegally luring members from the public.

Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım ordered on Jan. 6 an investigation to determine whether there was negligence on the part of public officials regarding the murder of two children by their father, which recently made the Turkish news headlines.   

A Turkish Airlines flight en route to Basel from Istanbul has made an emergency landing in Italy’s Milan due to weather conditions, Doğan News Agency reported on Jan. 3.

Personnel from Istanbul Atatürk International Airport have found a puppy forgotten by a passenger inside one of the bathrooms at the airport, Doğan News Agency reported on Dec. 27.
