"Always Here," one of the opening exhibitions at Istanbul Modern's new building, showcases a selection of works from the museum collection acquired by the Women Artists Fund, established by Istanbul Modern in 2016 to support the production of women artists in Türkiye increase public awareness of their work and strengthen their representation.

Istanbul's museum of modern art, Istanbul Modern, moved on May 4 into a new building overlooking the Bosphorus Strait, designed by Renzo Piano, the Italian-born architect of London's Shard skyscraper and the Pompidou Center in Paris.

Established in 2004, the Istanbul Modern in 2018 moved out of a rustic building that once served as a customs warehouse.

The new building and exhibitions of Istanbul Modern, Türkiye's first modern and contemporary art museum, has opened on May 4. The official opening ceremony of the museum will be held later.

Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy has inaugurated the Beyoğlu and Başkent Culture Road Festival in Istanbul during its launch ceremonies in Istanbul and Ankara on the weekend.

The event in Istanbul opened with a photomarathon event joined by 1,500 photographers.

Istanbul Modern is getting ready to leave its temporary space in Beyoğlu. The venue will host its visitors for the last time on Feb 27 and then will move to its new building in Karaköy, bearing the signature of Renzo Piano and is set to open soon.

Istanbul Modern's new exhibition, titled "Interactions," a selection from its collection, showcases works that were inspired by or refer to various subjects and individuals from the fields of plastic arts, architecture, literature, music and cinema.

Istanbul Modern is hosting an exhibition titled "Selected Moments" on the 10th anniversary of the death of businessperson and photographer Şakir Eczacıbaşı. Sponsored by the Eczacıbaşı Group and curated by Bülent Erkmen, the exhibition will be on view until March 31, 2021.

Contemporary art museums in Istanbul reopened to art lovers on June 16 as Turkey continued to ease restrictions against the novel coronavirus. 

Every language is more than an instrument of communication between members of the community to which it belongs, it also represents cultural accumulation. Language is a tool for individuals to convey their thoughts and an important determinant of how they perceive and express the world around them.

Canan Tolon is one of the most original and creative artists of her generation in terms of the rich variety of her research and her intellectual breadth. And now, her first solo exhibition in Turkey will be held at Istanbul Modern.
